FC Schalke 04 finds buyers for Ozan Kabak
After the Bundesliga descent, FC Schalke 04 tried to get rid of top earners last summer. With central defender Ozan Kabak, this only managed to do so. Now there may be a final farewell.
As various Turkish media write, the defender is said to have sparked the interest of the Turkish top club Besiktas. The Istanbulers therefore plan to take negotiations with the royal blues promptly. The defender is currently loaned to the Premier League Association Norwich City.
However, the reports raise the question of whether Besiktas can actually afford the 22-year-old. Kabak switched from VfB Stuttgart to the narrow in 2019 for 15 million euros. It is currently rumored that a realistic transfer value could probably be around 13 million euros. There would probably be a stately salary.
Besiktas is currently only in sixth place in the Süperlig. The club threatens to give international business and thus a lucrative source of income. The high inflation of the Turkish lira could also make a shopping tour abroad.
KABAK return at Schalke 04 probably excluded
On the other hand, it is clear that the defensive man has no future at Schalke. The “WAZ” wrote in mid-April that it was “excluded” that the former star shopping will be seen again in the royal blue jersey.
Already last summer S04 would have liked to finally say goodbye to the Turks. A buyer was not found at the time.
Ultimately, Norwich had won the international for a fee of allegedly around four million euros and also secured a purchase option. When staying in the class, the Canaries should also have mandatory the Schalke loan.
Since the team of manager Dean Smith is already a relegated team, it is certain that Norwich Kabak will not hold. According to current status, he would initially return to the Ruhr area in summer, where Kabak still has a contract until 2024.
